Description
Death Proof
Follow this ritual and maybe you will live forever
Another effect with a devilish storyline. With the dark cards and devilish patter this effect will add an exciting chill to your routine.
A rich man seeks out an ancient traveller, he has heard tales of his dark powers, even powers over Death. The traveller has a ritual, written down long ago. If performed correctly he promises the rich man eternal life.
Seven ancient cards are laid out in a face-down row on the table. You ask a spectator to play the rich man and give him a token in the shape of a skull. A second spectator gets to play the traveller and he is given a card with the ritual marked upon it. The traveller (spectator 2) now reads from the ritual, instructing the rich man to place the skull onto one of the cards. The rich man must now move the skull over the cards then remove a card that the skull no longer rests upon. This is repeated several times until the rich man has only one card left, this will be the card that decides his destiny.
Even though the rich man has a free choice of where he places the skull at the start, and decides for himself where he moves it over the cards....he always makes the wrong decisions, and on turning his card over finds the "Death" card", any of the discarded cards would have given him eternal life. In the story that you tell, the traveller reveals himself to be the very Death that the rich man tried to avoid , one who can never be cheated.
Completely self-working, this effect will totally fool your audience.
