This totally self-working effect will have your audience believing that you can truly predict the future. In fact it is so easy that you can have a second spectator play the Oracle and predict the chosen object for you.

A new king, wishing to know his future, visits an ancient Oracle living in the woods. For over 100 years she has advised his father, and his grandfather before that. You will play the part of the Oracle, a spectator plays the king.

You lay out three Tarot cards onto the table - a knight, a queen and a king. Next to the cards you place a coin representing wealth, a pebble representing longevity, and a skull representing change or death.

You turn your back then instruct your spectator to place an item onto each of the three cards, a totally free choice of which item goes onto which card. The spectator then proceeds to swap the items around so that you have no idea which item is where. 

Finally you instruct him to pick up the object resting on the king tarot. Your audience are amazed when you instantly name the object that he is holding and tell him what the future holds for his reign.

To finish, your spectator turns over the king tarot card to see the prediction written on the back.
